Kaz’Alizés has been recently renovated, and it shows in the details rather than in the decoration. The whole apartment is air-conditioned, which matters in an equatorial climate where the thermometer sits between 26 and 30 degrees all year round. There is one bedroom with a queen bed, and the apartment sleeps up to two guests. One bathroom, with hot water.
The kitchen is fully fitted, so you can cook properly rather than improvise. There is a washing machine — a small thing that changes a two-week stay, especially in a humid climate. Rémire-Montjoly borders Cayenne. It is residential, greener and quieter than the city centre, with shops and restaurants close by, and it keeps everything practical within reach. Cayenne and Félix-Éboué airport are both about fifteen minutes away.
That fifteen minutes does a lot of work. It means you can land, collect your bags and be in the apartment shortly afterwards. It means a day in Cayenne — the Place des Palmistes, the covered market, Fort Cépérou, the Saint-Sauveur cathedral — is an easy outing rather than an expedition.
