Cayenne rarely reveals itself from a hotel lobby. It opens up slowly: in the shade of a courtyard, in the noise of the covered market, in the light that spreads over the ocean late in the afternoon. To feel any of that, you need a base of your own. Kaz Toti is exactly that kind of base. It is a villa with a private pool in Montabo, one of the quietest residential districts of Cayenne, with the beach within walking distance.
Kaz Toti is one of the properties looked after by Amazon Conciergerie, a rental management and concierge company working across French Guiana. The house is verified, cleaned and handed over in person, and the team answers in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese. If you are still comparing options, the full list sits on our properties page and in our English guide to where to stay in French Guiana. The original French listing for this house is here: Kaz Toti.
The villa itself
Kaz Toti sleeps up to four guests in two air-conditioned bedrooms, with one bathroom. The scale is deliberate: a compact tropical villa where the living space, the kitchen and the terrace flow into one another, and where natural light does most of the work.
The kitchen is fully equipped, which matters more in Cayenne than travellers expect. Eating out every night gets tiring, and the local markets are a genuine reason to cook: fresh fish, tropical fruit, herbs you will not find at home. There is hot water throughout, a washing machine for longer stays, a connected TV for slow evenings, and fibre Wi-Fi that is quick enough for video calls and remote work.
Air conditioning in both bedrooms is not a luxury detail here. French Guiana has an equatorial climate, warm and humid all year round, and sleeping well is the difference between a good trip and a tired one.
The private pool and the terrace
The heart of the house is outside. The private pool and its terrace belong to you alone for the length of your stay, with no shared residence, no neighbouring guests and no timetable. Mornings are for coffee on the terrace before the heat builds. The middle of the day is for the water. Evenings, when the air finally cools, are for staying outside longer than you planned.
Montabo and the beach
Montabo is a residential district on the coastal side of Cayenne. It is calm, green and close to shops and restaurants, and the Montabo beach is a short walk away, along with the Montabo trail for anyone who wants a walk under the trees rather than a swim.
The beaches of the Guianese coast are nesting grounds for sea turtles. In season, females come ashore at night to lay, and hatchlings make their way back to the water later in the year. It is a genuinely remarkable thing to witness, but it is wildlife, not a scheduled show: nobody can promise you a sighting, and the animals must be watched from a distance and without lights. Ask us when you arrive and we will tell you what is currently happening on the beach.
Cayenne city centre is a short drive from Montabo, with the Place des Palmistes, the covered market, Fort Cepérou and the Saint-Sauveur cathedral all within a walkable few blocks of each other.
Who Kaz Toti suits
The house works well for three sorts of stay.
- Families. Two bedrooms, a kitchen, a washing machine and a private pool cover almost everything a family with young children needs.
- Two couples travelling together. Four guests, two air-conditioned bedrooms, one shared living space and a terrace big enough to spread out on.
- Quiet business stays. Fibre Wi-Fi, a calm district away from the main roads, and the option to cook rather than eat in restaurants every evening. For longer professional moves, our relocation and settling-in service covers the practical side of arriving in French Guiana.

Practical points before you book
Two things are worth knowing in advance. First, the map area shown online is approximate. The exact address is sent to you once your booking is confirmed, which is standard practice for private homes and protects the property between stays.
Second, you do not have to book blind. We offer a video-call viewing of the house before you commit, so you can see the rooms, the pool and the terrace in real time and ask questions as you go. Arrange one through our contact page or on WhatsApp.
If you would like to know how the arrival and departure inventory works, we explain it here: the inventory of fixtures for holiday rentals in French Guiana. And if you own a property in French Guiana yourself, our rental management service and our wider range of services may be of interest.

Frequently asked questions
How many people can stay at Kaz Toti?
Up to four guests, in two air-conditioned bedrooms with one bathroom. It suits a family or two couples travelling together.
Is the pool really private?
Yes. The pool and the terrace are for the exclusive use of the guests staying in the villa. There is no shared residence and no fixed pool hours.
Will I see sea turtles on Montabo beach?
Sea turtles nest on the beaches of French Guiana in season, and Montabo beach is close to the villa. Sightings are never guaranteed, because these are wild animals. Ask us on arrival about the current situation, and always observe from a distance, without lights or flash.
